How do university graduates handle the tensions between their professional an personal expectations, an the reality of a declining and progressively insecure labour market? The question is approached by presenting a single-case study of a youth care worker, whose attempts to find employment in her field an forge a professional identity are frustrated by the 2008. Methodologically, the research is based on an in-depth interview conducted an analyzed using Wengraf an Chamberlayne’s Biographical Narrative Interpretive Method (BNIM) The Method is a psychosocial approach to biography focused on narrative as a source of evidence for the understanding of subjectivity.
